Monday, March 12, 2012 - Issues related to mortgages

Issues related to mortgages have been front and centre in the mainstream media recently. The federal Finance Department took steps to help to clarify pre-payment penalty calculations for consumers. Federally regulated financial institutions will be required to explain how they calculate interest rate differentials and must also be more transparent with consumers about their options for making pre-payments without incurring penalties. Total Sales for the city of Calgary in February/2012 were 1,737 - an increase of 7.02% from the same time last year. Daily Sales for February have gone through the roof, with increases of over 28%.   When you consider Daily Activity, it appears that once February came around, people got in shopping mode and started buying.
